3 light houses in Gujarat to be developed as tourist spots

Three light houses – Dwarka, Veraval and Gopnath will be developed as tourist spots. The 43 metre high light house at Dwarka, 30 m high at Veraval and 40 m high in Gopnath in Bhavnagar will be developed.

The spots will have all modern facilities like LED fountain showing maritime and local history, landscaping, visitor rooms, information kiosks etc for the facility of tourists. Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya made this announcement today during his visit to the state. He said that the project would be taken up the central government.

In addition the government will provide Rs.215 crore assistance to Alang ship breaking yard. The yard is being developed as ‘green recycling yard’ and facilities are being upgraded. He added that facilities are also being developed to recycle Navy ships and the facility would start soon.
