Gujarat Global News Network, Gandhinagar

The Gujarat government has decided to appoint a five-member committee, including three IAS officers, for in-depth investigation into the charges of fraud, betrayal and intimidation levelled against Gujarat’s IAS officer Gauarv Dahiya regarding his marriage. The government has also received more than half a dozen complaints from women of Dahiya’s department regarding his behavior.

The committee will be headed by Principal Secretary Sunaina Tomar, and will have Mamata Verma IAS and Sonal Mishra IAS as members and Deviben Pandya as non-government member. Its member-secretary will be of the rank of Deputy-Joint or Additional Secretary. The committee has been asked to submit its report fast.

It may be mentioned here that following complaint against Mr. Gaurav Dahiya, who has been working as Director of National Rural Health Mission, he has been transferred with immediate effect on July 22 and posted as Joint Secretary (Planning) with the General Administration Department.

A woman has alleged that 2010 batch and joint secretary in the General Administration Department (Planning) IAS officer Gaurav Dahiya had compelled her to marry him secretly and later tortured her for giving birth to a girl child.

The officer who was already married has denied the allegations saying that the lady was not speaking the truth and he has already given information about it to police and the department in June and February this year.
