The results of class X were declared today with a pass percentage of 66.97 percent which is slightly higher than 67.50 percent of last year. Like previous some years this year also girls fared well with their pass percentage 72.64 leaving boys with 62.83 percent way behind.
The result of English medium students is quite high than Gujarati medium this year. Hindi medium students have left Gujarati students on third position. The result of English medium is 88.11 percent, Hindi 72.66 percent and Gujarati 64.58 percent.
Surat district topped with 79.63 percent result while the lowest was of Chhota Udepur with only 46.38 percent students clearing the exams. Supasi centre in Gir- Somnath district record highest 95.96 percent result while Tad in the same district recorded lowest result of only 17.63 percent.
A shocking aspect of the result is that 63 schools in the state got zero result. None of the student passed!!. In contrast 366 schools got 100 percent result. 995 schools had result less than 30 percent.
Ahmedabad city got 72.45 percent result while Ahmedabad rural has 70.24 percent result.14 schools in city and 20 in rural got cent percent result. Kankaria centre of the city has highest 93.03 percent result while Kalupur centre has the lowest with 47.45 percent.
Gujarat Higher Secondary and Secondary Board chairman A J Shah said that total 11.59 lakh students appeared for the exams. This year 4974 students have got A1 grade which is less than 6378 of last year. 32,375 have got A2 grades as compared to 33956 of last year.
