Ahmedabad Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) plans to organize various programmes during the year to improve coordination with government authorities as part of contribution to nation building exercise.
The new team which took over last week will also focus on improving quality of teaching and create awareness amongst students for pursuing CA course, CA Fenil Shah new chairman of Ahmedabad branch said.
He said that Branch will be initiating more and more dialogues with various Regulators and Authorities to showcase ICAI’s cause and commitment towards nation building. An investors summit, banking summit and an international student conference are planned during the year.
The Branch would thrust on organising programmes on New Practice Areas, Opportunities, Brand Building, Networking and Knowledge Sharing. Special emphasis will be put for young members to look for emerging and sunrise practice areas and also on providing platform to support to Senior Members of the profession. He added that Branch aimed at signing MOU with Universities and arranging seminars for the Government Officers.
The branch also plans to provide better facilities to students. A new hostel and more reading rooms will be set up. He said that the institute will organize programmes in civic schools to create awareness among students to pursue the course.
Ahmedabad Branch, established in 1962 is the second largest branch of ICAI in India with more than 11500 members and 30,000 students. Other office bearers include CA Harit Dhariwal as Vice chairman, CA Bishan Shah as secretary and CA Rahul Maliwal as Treasurer.
