A direct flight between Ahmedabad and Auzar (Nasik) will begin operations from Feb.13. Under the Regional air connectivity scheme(RCS) this route will be started which will facilitate people visiting pilgrim places like Shirdi, Shani-Shingapur, Trambyakeshwar etc.
ATR-72 of 70 seat capacity will be operated on this route. 35 seats will be under RCS scheme and the charge will be Rs. 2060, state civil aviation minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma said. The minister had discussions with officials of the centre and suggested that an international flight on the lines of RCS should be started. These flights are part of “UDAAN” scheme of the centre where fares are quite low so that common man can also fly in planes.
Many more routes will be started from Gujarat soon, the minister said. A flight from Deesa-Jaisalmer-Jodhpur-Ahmedabad-Deesa will be started soon. In addition three water drome area and 13 more routes will be started soon. These include Belgaun to Vadodara and Ahmedabad, Kishangarh-Ahmedabad, Banglore-Jamnagar, Hyderabad-Jamnagar-Banglore, Managar-Goa-Jamnagar-Hidan, Surat-Bhavnagar-Mumbai,Surat-Mandvi-Surat-Ujjain-Surat-Lonavala,Amby Valley-Surat, Ahmedabad-Ujjain-Indore and few others. These routes are expected to start operations by August this year.
