Gujarat board exams to begin from March 12

About 17.14 lakh students will appear for SSC-HSC board exams to be conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The SSC and HSC exams will begin from March 12.

State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma said that the government has made all arrangements for peaceful conduct of the examinations. SSC exams will be from March 12 to 23. As many as 11,03,674 students have been registered for the exams.

For Class 12th science exams 1,34,671 students have been enrolled while for 12th general stream 4,76,634 students have enrolled.

This year 192 prisoners will write their exams. Of these 155 will appear for class X and 37 will appear for class XII. The exams will be held at central jails in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Lajpore.

For the first time question papers in Braille language will be provided to blind students appearing for SSC exams.

There are 908 centres for SSC exams, 140 for 12th science stream and 500 for general stream.
