Two new super specialty hospitals will come up in the state to provide better health services to the people. The hospitals with ultra modern facilities will come up at Sola civil hospital and another one at Surat.
Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said that a new 10-storeyed hospital will come up at Sola which will have 550 beds. The hospital to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 242 crore will have super specialty services like cardiology, neurologist, nephrology, cardiology, pediatric, urology, plastic surgery, deputy chief Minister Nitin Patel said.
He said that the existing hospital at Sola has 750 beds and more than 1400 patients are treated as out door patients. The new facilities will help patients from North Gujarat region.
Patel said that the existing hospital at Surat will be given a facelift and a new super specialty hospital with 560 beds at the cost of Rs. 352 crore will be set up. The hospital will have super specialty services like cardiology, neurologist, nephrology, cardiology, pediatric, urology, plastic surgery. The central government has sanctioned a grant of Rs. 120 crore for the hospital.
The state government is also planning to upgrade Vadodara and Gandhinagar hospitals. The projects would be completed in three years time.
