One thing amdavadis miss is night street food market at Law Garden. Soon the area will have modern food trucks serving people their favourite foods. The nearly two decade old area, which had become a distinct identity of the city, is being renovated to give people a clean and safe food market.
The area to be called- happy street- will have 31 big food trucks and 11 small trucks. They will be allowed to operate from 6 in the evening to 1 one clock in the night. After that the street will be cleaned. During the day the area will be converted into pay and park facility.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has invited tenders for food trucks. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Arjav Shah said that during food joints will be on one side only. The other side will be for pay and park. Tenders for which will be floated soon.
The monthly license fees for big trucks would be Rs.90,000 and for small trucks would be Rs.30,000. Shah clarified that this is the minimum base price for bidding.
The food street is expected to start by December end, he added. Since one year the AMC has closed down the road for renovation.
