The Medical Council of India(MCI) has given nod to increase 28 post graduate seats in Ahmedabad Municipal corporation run L G medical college from next academic year. The college already has 19 PG seats.
Dean of medical college Dr. Pankaj Patel said that few months ago MCI had inspected the college and then granted permission for seats. Following seats have been sanctioned: MD general- 5, Pediatrics- 3, ENT-1, Radio diagnosis-3, OBG-3, General surgery-5, Opthalmology-1, Psychiatry-2, BVL-1 and TB and Chest-1. The MCI has not sanctioned seats for orthopedic department.
The college has 19 PG seats. With this increase the total number of PG seats would increase to 47. The college has 100 under graduate seats. The AMC has also sought increase for seats in NHL municipal medical college. The college has sought increase of 100 UG seats. It already has 150 seats, Dr. Patel said.
