Gujarat Global News Network, Ahmedabad

More than dozen Patidar leaders were detained by the police on Monday. They were staging protest demanding release of Patidar leader Hardik Patel and others from jail.

Members of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) and Sardar Patel Group (SPG) have given a state wide protest programme to demand release of Hardik and others. As part of it the first programme was held on Monday at Sabarmati Ashram.

Before the members could protest police detained SPG leader Lalji Patel, Atul Patel, Reshma and Vandana Patel and few others. Later they were released on bail.

Lalji said that they were following Gandhi’s path of non violent protest but the state government was not giving permission. He warned that the agitation would be intensified. The Patidars have planned dharna programmes in all the 33 districts demanding release of Hardik and others.
