Penalty for schools admitting kids below three

Kids below three years cannot be admitted to nursery schools. Violation of this provision will lead to stringent measures including cancellation of school permission.

The state government on Friday announced a policy regarding admissions in nursery and KG. Acting on a PIL Gujarat High Court had directed the state government to formulate a policy for the same. It had directed that schools cannot give admissions to kids below three years of age.

The state government has said that schools found violating this norm will be fines Rs. One lakh in first case. The amount will be raised to Rs. 5 lakh if the school is found violating the provision second time. In case of more violation school’s permission would be cancelled.
