At least one Gujarat fisherman was injured in afiring by Pakistan Marine Security Agency (PMSA) off the Jhakhau coast along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) on Thursday. The Pakistan agency also abducted 25 fishermen along with their four boats.
This is the second incident of firing on Gujarat fishermen along the IMBL by Pakistan agency since September. Last month, an Indian fisherman was killed after being hit by a bullet fired from an unidentified boat off Okha coast. fishermen.
The injured fisherman Dhanji Jivabhai Tendel, from Mangrol in Junagadh, was hit on the arm. The boats apprehended by PMSA belong to Mangrol and Okha. The one boat that was let off by the Pakistan agency is on the way back and is likely to return on Friday.
Early this month, 60 fishermen with 10 boats were apprehended by the PMSA on October 4 from the Arabian Sea. Nine boats were from Porbandar and one from Okha.
