Following huge protests by students who have failed in class 9 and 11, the state government has asked schools to conduct re-test for these students. The exam will have to be conducted by June 10 and the result should be declared by June 15.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GHSHB) has asked all district education officers to instruct all schools to take the re-test and inform the students well in advance.
There have been various complaints of students of 9 and 11 standard not clearing the exams. In fact in St Xaviers Loyola school in Ahmedabad parents had created ruckus and said that their children have been failed deliberately. About 53 students of the school have not been able to clear their exams.
They demanded that school conduct re-test and pass them so that they would change the school. But schools are not permitted for this. The parents made representations to the education minister and the government has ordered re-test.
