Schools in the state will not reopen from September 21, state Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma said. The Centre in its guideline of unlock-4 had said that students of classes from standard 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit the schools for taking guidance from teachers.
Though the centre had left final decision on the states. On Wednesday the state cabinet decided that no partial reopening of schools will be allowed. With rising Covid cases the government has taken this decision.
The guideline by central government last month was not binding on the states. Therefore, Gujarat has decided not to open any educational institute, the minister said.
