Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party’s (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal has announced that he will come to Gujarat regularly and even field candidates in 2017 Assembly elections. He accused Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel of getting his programme in Surat cancelled and said that he would soon come to Surat.
Kejriwal started his tour with offering puja at Somnath temple with his wife and his deputy Manish Sisodia and Kumar Vishwas. Hundreds of people had thronged the temple to meet him and the temple authorities had to close the doors of the temple. Kejriwal said that he prayed to God to give him strength to fight against evils.
Later talking to mediapersons he said that he was to go to Surat but Anandiben got it cancelled. He said that he will visit Gujarat regularly and AAP would contest Assembly elections. “I will campaign door-to-door and bring out inefficiency and corruption of the government”, Kejriwal added.
Referring to Hardik Patel, Patel quota agitation leader, he said that a 23 year old youth is charged with sedition when demands reservation for his community but no action is taken when a BJP leader talks with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
Farmers in Gujarat have not been given compensation. My government has paid full compensation to the farmers, he said. “AAP will fight elections but will not take funds from Adani or Ambani”, Kejriwal said.
